Getting your cookie fix in Portland
I know there are people out there who will go out of their way to find delicious pastries or cakes, but for me, it’s all about the chocolate chip cookie. Most people will buy a bag of Tate’s and call it a day, but I’m after the best cookie in Portland. Here’s what I’ve found:
Petunia’s Pies and Pastries
Petunia’s cookies are the kind my grandma would make, and that’s about the highest praise I can give. The nostalgia factor that comes along with these cookies takes them to the next level. I’m not someone who typically seeks out vegan options, but these cookies are so good it doesn’t make any difference. When you hear the story that goes along with Petunia’s Pies and Pastries, you are instilled with the confidence that each item is made with love, and everybody knows that’s the most important ingredient right?
New Cascadia Traditional
If you are in the neighborhood for a slice, then I can tell you for dessert you gotta get a cookie. Eating gluten-free, you are lucky to get anything that tastes something like the food you’re used to let, alone getting a cookie that excels in its own right. The cookies from New Cascadia have such a great texture that they are good, let alone for being gluten-free. That’s rare praise coming from someone who doesn’t have to eat gluten-free.
