Getting Boozy in Seattle
I’m not sure if it’s the weather or what, but whenever I visit Seattle, drinking seems to be one of the main activities. Luckily you are spoiled for choice when it comes to getting gluten-free booze. Really, drinking gluten-free isn’t that hard, but it makes for a fun article when the city has so much to offer. If you’re looking to pair some food with your drink, many of these spots also serve a fully gluten-free menu.
Ghostfish Brewing
Ghostfish brewing features 100 percent gluten-free beer and an excellent menu full of gluten-free food. The beer is great, but the menu might just be the highlight here. It’s a menu full of all the items on your gluten-free wish list: Fish and Chips, Pretzels, Churros and so much more. We quite literally ate ourselves sick when we went here, it’s too hard to resist! Make sure to follow them on Instagram, they’ve got some great photos that make us keep coming back.
Capitol Cider
Capitol Cider has some of the best brews in town, and they’ve got an excellent location on Capitol Hill that is convenient to the rest of the downtown area. They serve some high-quality food out of their 100 percent gluten and nut-free kitchen. If you are looking for a bit more pizzaz with your gluten-free food, this is the place to be.
Schilling Cider House
If you find yourself in Freemont, Schilling must be on your list. I don’t think I’ve seen a place with more cider options on tap. Try a flight of their in-house ciders, or order a few of the 30+ taps they’ve collected from around the world. Unlike their Portland location, the Seattle location doesn’t offer their own kitchen but don’t worry because they allow outside food
Honorable mention: Cider in Seattle is the next big thing, new cideries are popping up all over town, and it’s just too much to keep up with. We encourage you to try these newcomers to the cider game and let us know your favorites in the comments!
